Military Halloween Costume AccessoriesI’ve just been doing some research into the types of accessories that can be used with military costumes and I’m amazed at the range of equipment and gear that is available for military Halloween costumes.

There are literally hundreds of accessories to choose from, I’m only going to go into more detail about the basic accessories here because I don’t think it’s realistic to talk about advanced gear and equipment for a dress up party.

Basic Military Costume Accessories

Women can consider army accessories such as camouflaged knee high boots. These work very well in a number of ways with your outfit. Firstly, they are a perfect match with the colors of your outfit. Secondly they add a real sexy edge to your costume that other women’s costumes simply don’t have.

The second basic military outfit accessory that I want to discuss is the dog-tags. These are cheap and around $5 or so but a very cool addition for both men and women. Dog tags typically have information such as your blood type, unit number, patrol etc. These look cool hung around your neck and can give your costume the x-factor.

Another basic accessory to military costumes is makeup. Go the extra mile and covers your face in make up and you’ll rally look the part. This makeup looks equally as good on men as it does on women. It is always water based meaning you can easily wash it off and it won’t stain clothes.

The GI Helmet is the next accessory worth mentioning. It is probably best suited to men but could look cute with a women’s army costume as well. The helmets are typically dark green in color and look just like a classic army helmet you’ve seen 100 times in war movies.

A plastic compass and binoculars can be purchased for a few bucks and will be a great prop when acting out the soldier at the party. Simple items such as these are often overlooked but the truth is they can bring life to the party and surprise your friends and family.

The final accessory I want to mention here today is a gun. Every military Halloween costume should have a fake gun regardless of whether you’re playing a foot soldier, a naval soldier, or an air force pilot. Men and women both look better with guns when dress as a member of the army so make sure you have a gun with you at all times!
